During the month of May, locals and visitors can enjoy a series of activities, events and activations that invigorate the CBD and breathe life back into the city’s street scapes.
A section of Kooyoo Street will be transformed into a pedestrian piazza and will host an array of activities, please refer to the calendar to keep up to date and see what is happening.
Artists will be creating large scale murals on the forgotten façades of the laneway.
The streets are the connecting tissue that hold our cities together, they have always provided mobility and access to the inhabitants of Griffith, Street Scapes looks to explore what other opportunities our streets may offer.
The Streets as Shared spaces grant has provided funding for council to pilot test an activation program that will explore and investigate alternative uses for streets in Griffith.
Testing the activation program will help council determine the effectiveness of such programs and hopefully explore opportunities in permanent redevelopment and improvement in the CBD.
The Street Scapes organisers would like to acknowledge the Wiradjuri people, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live and work, and pay our respects to the Elders, past and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Patrons must follow NSW Health guidelines and follow COVID safe practice at all times.
Help reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection by keeping your distance from other people where possible and avoiding close contact with people you do not live with.
With your co-operation and we can make Street Scapes a Covid safe event for everyone.
