Information

Street Scapes Griffith is a celebration of our city.

During the month of May, locals and visitors can enjoy a series of activities, events and activations that invigorate the CBD and breathe life back into the city’s street scapes.

Street Scapes will transform the city into an outdoor cultural experience.

A section of Kooyoo Street will be transformed into a pedestrian piazza and will host an array of activities, please refer to the calendar to keep up to date and see what is happening.

Street Scapes links art, people, place and technology creating a unique program of events and activities that not only compliment the CBD but juxtapose it.

Banna Lane will ignite and excite with the return of the Banna Lane Festival.

Artists will be creating large scale murals on the forgotten façades of the laneway.

Street Scapes as shared spaces.

Street Scapes has been made possible through the NSW Government Streets as Shared Spaces fund and through contribution and support from Griffith City Council.

The streets are the connecting tissue that hold our cities together, they have always provided mobility and access to the inhabitants of Griffith, Street Scapes looks to explore what other opportunities our streets may offer.

The Streets as Shared spaces grant has provided funding for council to pilot test an activation program that will explore and investigate alternative uses for streets in Griffith.

Testing the activation program will help council determine the effectiveness of such programs and hopefully explore opportunities in permanent redevelopment and improvement in the CBD.

Street Scapes intends to combine art, technology, local produce and activity to foster a new beginning for Kooyoo Street.
